Blossom Ceramic Pot

Beautiful hand made ceramic pot made by Brighton based ceramicist, Alice Carter. 

Alice makes functional stoneware ceramics. She loves pieces that are useful but can also be treasured and feel special in your hands and home. After studying in Sheffield and graduating with a Bachelors in Fine Art, she moved to Brighton a few years ago and took up pottery.

Alice enjoys all the possibilities of working with clay and uses speckled stoneware clay. Her glazes are a mixture of dipping glazes and brush on glazes. All pieces are hand-thrown on Alice's pottery wheel then trimmed and stamped. Once the piece is fully dry it is ready for bisque firing, then can be glazed and finally a put into a second ‘glaze’ firing for the final result.

She has developed a small core collection of pieces inspired by the sky and sea but she has also been working on some new collections and making with different themes in mind.

Alice has created this collection exclusively for Fabrica Gallery, Alice says, "I have always found myself inspired by nature and wanting to explore this in my work and so have loved making this collection of planters for Fabrica."

This pot is 10cm across the brim and 8cm tall.
